New Year, New Branding - 2022 Rebrand from Wavey

The past few years have been incredibly hard for most people, with the world dealing with recovering from numerous lockdowns, companies who where forced to close simply due to not having the money to continue operating and people losing their loved ones from COVID-19. We hope that 2022 will be a better year for everyone, and that internally as a company we can help to make some people's life easier by building innovative, cost effective and modern solutions for businesses to allow them to continue to operate.

As a company, we love nothing more than spinning up Photoshop and Illustrator, and diving deep into doing a rebrand, however we always seem to find it hard to get it right when making designs for ourselves, we never seem to know exactly what we want, until now!

For 2022, we have decided to push the boat out and redesign our brand into what we hope will be our new style going forward for the coming years, and allow us to create a great deal more content for 2022 and beyond.

I want to cover our rebrand and what we are going to be doing during 2022 for you all to see and interact with. This post might be a long-winded article, however I promise that after reading this, you won't be disappointed.

New Logo

We have been using our familiar Wavey logo for some time now, and this won't change. We absolutely love our logo, it shows off the fact that we are modern, unique and internally colourful in nature. We have decided to keep this logo the same as we simply can't part ways with it. Encase for some reason you haven't seen it, here it is in all its glory.

However, we will be taking another approach to our typography, so going forward, you will see a lot more of our W Wavey logo, Encase you haven't seen this, here's a quick preview of it:

Wavey W insigna

As you can tell, it's simply the W from our main logo, just on its own, this means we can use our custom font inside of smaller applications such as Favicon's and more. Do you love it as much as we do?

New Social Branding

Going into 2022, we are going to be taking social media very seriously, so we made the decision to completely overhaul our social presence, from the content we post, all the way to our branding on our headers and more.

If you follow us on our social media accounts, you have most likely seen our new headers, however if you haven't seen it, here is a preview of it:

Wavey Social Header

As you can see, it's very different from our older branding, however we want to take a new approach to our social media in 2022. After many internal meetings, we came up with the idea of using 3D isometric designs on our social media, so we created a custom Scotland, because, well, we are based in Scotland.

We love the design, and we are going to be using this style a lot more going forward on both our social media and throughout our brand.

Brand New Website

We wanted to fully redesign our website, using our own in-house CMS called WaveyCMS. After using the CMS on several client websites over the last few months, we decided to migrate our older website (Written in our outdated version of WaveyCMS) into the newest edition. We thought long and hard about the design and what style we wanted to go for, internally we agreed on a dark theme, creative based website would be the best way to go. If you haven't seen it already, check it out here:

Wavey's New Website

We love it! As you can see, it shows off our creativity and we absolutely adore the layout.

For 2022, we wanted to make a daily schedule of posts going up through our social media and blog, so we have decided to create WaveyDaily. WaveyDaily will be posted everyday on our social media, as well as a blog post about the post. Our posts are small snippets of helpful code & design that will help all you developers improve your code, websites and more.

Check out our social media daily for new posts as well as our blog.

So what is Boxxy? Currently in the market, there is an abundance of support platforms, from Zendesk to Tideo (The LiveChat we currently use on our websites), however there is always an underlying issue we have, the cost. Usually, for 2 team members to have access to LiveChat and tickets, we would be paying anything from £30 to £60 depending on the platform, so we want to change this.

Utilising our newest infrastructure changes, we are working on our own cost effective support platform called Boxxy.

We are looking for a launch date for early February. We will release more details closer to the time so keep an eye out for our new posts on Boxxy.

Laravel Adventure

Ever wanted to build your own website or application with Laravel but don't want to buy multiple courses for several applications? Or maybe you are a visual learner and don't want to read through the extensive documentation for Laravel and it's packages? This is where Laravel Adventure comes into play. We are working on a feature full, Laravel training course that teaches you all the concepts from Laravel along with over 5 applications that we build together in the course as well as over 50 packages that we will be teaching you to use. All of this, for a simple one-time price.

Keep an eye out for our course going live on our social accounts.

So what next?

We are really looking forward to 2022 and the projects we will be releasing and the clients we will be working with. We will keep you all updated on the progress and people who follow us will be able to get exclusive discounts on our products when we launch.

We hope you all had a great Christmas, and you all have a fun & safe new year.

Happy 2022!
